Living in SC and not being a Republican can often be both interesting and challenging. If you start a conversation with political content, there's an underlying assumption that you're on the "right" side of the spectrum. This is especially true if you work in management within state government.
When you make it known that you're actually NOT part of that group, there's that "oh", then the conversation is usually ended. I make it quite clear and no excuses that I'm an Independent, and have always been one. Honestly, I believe there are many more people like me in SC--Independent and proud of it!
That's the purpose of this blog. To serve as a forum for all SC Independents to vent, communicate, and so on. I've also formed "Palmetto Independents" as a group on Facebook, if you're interested in joining.
